The dinner app for both of you.
One plan you both get a say in.
One answer to “who's cooking tonight?”
Dinner is a two-person job. Your app thinks it's yours alone.
Recipe apps onboard one cook and ignore the other person in the kitchen. But deciding, shopping, and cooking is a household job, and every bit of friction is coordination friction.
“idk, what do you want?”
The nightly text thread that never decides anything. Twenty minutes of back-and-forth, and dinner is still a question mark.
The plan lives in one person's head.
One of you holds the whole system: what's for dinner, what's in the fridge, what to buy. The store trip proves it every week.
Two bags. Two bunches of cilantro.
You both stopped at the store. You both bought the same things. Nobody bought the one thing you actually needed.
Two phones.
One list. Live.
The grocery list is the same list on both your phones. Split the store aisle by aisle and it empties in real time: the fastest grocery run you've ever done together.
Claim an aisle
You take Dairy, they take Produce. Initials on every aisle, per-person counts of what's left.
Watch it empty from both ends
Check an item on your phone and it's gone on theirs the same second, not after a refresh.
See who grabbed what
Every checked item shows who got it. Help received, never oversight. No read receipts, no scorekeeping.
A week planned in seconds. A real vote for your partner.
HelloMealio builds the week from recipes you already love. Then your partner gets a say that actually counts: thumbs-up a night, or ask for a swap.
- ✓Generate the week. Pick the nights you need dinner. The plan appears in seconds, from your own library.
- ✓Thumbs-up or ask for a swap. Reactions land on each day. No group chat, no spreadsheet, no silent resentment.
- ✓One tap heals the week. “Find a better fit” re-ranks alternatives and swaps the night. The joke is on the salmon, not the spouse.
Tonight Mode knows whose night it is.
The widget answers 5pm before the text thread starts: tonight's dinner and who's cooking it. No argument, no “I thought it was your turn.”
- ✓The widget knows whose night it is. “You cook” or “Noa cooks,” right on the home screen, assigned when you planned the week.
- ✓The right person gets the reminder. Whoever's on dinner gets the defrost nudge in the afternoon. The other one gets to not think about it.
- ✓The streak belongs to the household. Nights cooked count for both of you. Keep it going together. It's a team stat, not a scoreboard.
From reel to real dinner.
That recipe you saved three weeks ago doesn't have to die in your bookmarks. Paste the link and HelloMealio pulls the title, ingredients, timing, and steps into a draft you approve.
- ✓Paste a Reel, TikTok, or any recipe link. Instagram, TikTok, blogs, recipe sites: the recipe lands as a draft, not a screenshot you'll never open again.
- ✓Snap a photo, or start from scratch. Cookbook pages and grandma's index cards come in through the camera. Custom recipes get built by hand.
- ✓You review, then it's both of yours. Check the title and timing before it saves, straight into the shared library your weeks are planned from.
Hands covered in chicken?
Just ask.
Voice Chef is a hands-free cooking coach that knows the exact recipe on your stove. Substitutions, temps, timing, doneness: answered out loud, while you keep cooking.
It knows the recipe you're cooking
Ask “what temperature should the oil be?” and it answers for this dish, with your quantities and your steps, not a generic chart.
Hands-free, both directions
It talks, you talk back. Jump in with a question mid-step, ask it to repeat itself when the pan gets loud.
One tap from Tonight Mode
When it's your night, Cook with Chef is right under dinner. Backup for whoever's cooking, even when they're solo.
One bag of garlic, not five.
The planner picks dinners that share ingredients across the week, and shows you exactly where they overlap. One reasonable bag of groceries for the both of you, not two carts of one-off items.
A full-strength dinner app, built for two.
Share any recipe with a link
Send a recipe to anyone. They can read it in the browser, no app required.
Scale any recipe
Halve it for a quiet Tuesday or double it for meal prep. Quantities adjust in a tap.
A list sorted like the store
Produce, dairy, meat, pantry: walk the store once, in order, instead of zig-zagging back for the basil.
Honest kitchen stats
“9 of your 47 recipes have hit the table.” See what your household actually cooks, with per-person cooked counts that celebrate both of you.

We built the app our own kitchen needed.
In our house, the dinner plan lived in one person's head, and every grocery trip proved it. Duplicate cilantro. The 5pm “what do you want?” texts. One of us quietly running the whole system while the other waited for instructions.
So we built HelloMealio as a two-player app from the first line of code: one plan we both get a say in, one list that empties from both ends at the store, and a widget that settles whose night it is. We run our own kitchen on it every week. If dinner in your house is a shared job that somehow became one person's burden, this is for you, and we read every note you send us.
Questions before you download.
What is HelloMealio?+
HelloMealio is a shared meal planning app for couples, roommates, and small families. Your household gets one weekly dinner plan you both get a say in, one live grocery list two phones can split at the store, and one answer to “who's cooking tonight,” right on the widget. It's available for iPhone on the App Store and for Android on Google Play.
Is HelloMealio free?+
Yes. The two-player core is free: the shared weekly plan, the live grocery list, plan reactions, who-cooks-tonight, household streaks, and invites. HelloMealio Pro ($19.99/year or $3.99/month with a 30-day free trial) adds an unlimited recipe library, unlimited imports, and the Voice Chef. One Pro subscription covers your whole household.
How is HelloMealio different from other recipe apps?+
Most recipe apps are single-player: one account, one cook, sharing bolted on afterward. HelloMealio is built two-player from the ground up. The grocery list syncs live between phones and shows who checked each item, your partner can vote on the weekly plan, dinner nights get assigned to a person, and the streak belongs to the household, not to one user.
Does the grocery list really sync live between two phones?+
Yes. When one of you checks an item off, it updates on the other phone in real time, no refresh needed. You can each claim an aisle, split the store, and watch the list empty from both ends. Every checked item shows who grabbed it.
Can my partner change the weekly meal plan?+
Your partner gets a real vote. They can thumbs-up any night or ask for a swap, and “Find a better fit” suggests alternatives from your own library in one tap. Whoever plans no longer has to plan alone.
Can I use my own recipes in HelloMealio?+
Yes. HelloMealio plans your week from recipes you already love. Import by pasting a link (including Instagram Reels and TikToks), snapping a photo of a cookbook page, or typing a recipe in. Everything lands in a library your whole household shares.
Do both of us need to pay for HelloMealio?+
No. Inviting your partner or housemates is always free, and one Pro subscription ($19.99/year) covers every member of the household on every phone. There's no per-person pricing.
Can I use HelloMealio on my own?+
Yes. Planning, importing, the grocery list, and Tonight Mode all work solo. When someone else joins your kitchen, send them a free invite and the app becomes fully two-player: shared list, plan votes, and who-cooks-tonight.
What does the Voice Chef do?+
The Voice Chef is hands-free cooking help at the stove, and it knows the recipe you're cooking. Ask what's next, how to substitute an ingredient you're missing, or how to rescue a step that went sideways, all out loud, without touching your phone. It's part of HelloMealio Pro.
Add your person.
Download HelloMealio, plan your first week in seconds, and send one free invite. The moment their phone lights up, dinner stops being a single-player game.
